We are currently working with a large, inclusive secondary school in Manchester seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs (SEN). This is a full-time, long-term role that offers excellent experience for those interested in psychology, education, or a future career in teaching or mental health.

Role Summary:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEN (including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional and mental health needs)

• Work closely with the SENCO and classroom teachers to implement personalised support strategies

• Promote student engagement, confidence and independence

• Monitor progress and provide feedback on pupil development

• Help to create a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment

Who this role suits:

• Graduates in Psychology, Education, Child Development or a related field

• Individuals with previous experience in youth work, SEN, care or mental health

• Aspiring teachers, educational psychologists or speech and language therapists

Essential Requirements:

• A genuine interest in working with young people with additional needs

• Strong communication and empathy skills

• DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
