Are you looking for a job where you can make a real difference and impact to the lives of young people?
Have you worked with children and young people with mental health or challenging behaviour?
Do you live in the borough of Ealing or surrounding areas?
If so we want to hear from you!
There are a lot of local requirements in Ealing and the surrounding areas across West London for behaviour mentors, youth workers and teaching assistants to re-engage young people back into learning. If you are confident in supporting students aged 5-19 with mental health, social difficulties and additional learning difficulties both socially and through academic learning this is a great opportunity for you.
We work closely with a primary through to Post-16 provision in West Ealing for students that have found it difficult learning in mainstream settings and engaging in learning. The school is across two sites with primary in the main site and KS3 to KS5 based in a second site within local distance. The school provides real opportunities for pupils helping them find their passion and using their strengths to promote confidence and independence in learning.
The role involves supporting in either primary or secondary classes both 1:1, 2:1 and in small groups. Students learn based on the national curriculum with some learning through alternative, vocational subjects to enable students to reach their full potential. Classes are small in size with up to 10 pupils so you are able to build genuine positive relationships and support pupils as individuals rather than solely collectively.

- Be confident or experienced in academic and social support of children and young people
- Understand how to de-escalate challenging behaviours through on-going support
- Be fully committed to learning from and contributing to a team
- Demonstrate an enthusiastic, pro-active and creative attitude
- Be punctual and consistent with attendance due to the pupil needs
What can the school offer?
- Full-time positions Monday to Friday from 8:00- 4:30 to start after the Easter holidays (23rd April 2019)
- Class support positions across KS1, KS2, KS3, KS4 or KS5 classes with ongoing training opportunities
- Great opportunities for professional and career development with temporary to permanent contracts offers following a successful trial periods
- Friendly, supportive and committed staff who understand the needs of pupils across the school
- Local to West Ealing and Ealing Broadway station with additional bus routes across Ealing
To apply for this job as a behaviour support assistant in Ealing please email your updated CV and a short cover letter based on this position to the email address provided which will be sent to the school's head teacher.
