Role: Behaviour Support Assistant

Location: Bedminster

Salary: GBP60-70 per day

A brilliant school in Bedminster that Teaching Personnel have worked with for a number of years now requires a Behaviour Support Assistant to support a Key Stage 2 (KS2) child on a 1:1 basis. This child has some quite severe social, emotional and behavioural issues and has been through some quite challenging personal circumstances. The child struggles with PAD (Pathological Avoidance Disorder) which means he can often be quite resistant to instruction and uses distraction techniques to avoid doing work. The ideal candidate will need to have excellent behaviour management and need to be confident in implementing strict boundaries. The child can on occasion try and run away so this is quite a physically challenging role.  As a behaviour mentor you will be supporting the child throughout all of the daily lessons so some knowledge of the primary curriculum or someone who is academically strong is required.

  • Extremely resilient
  • Engaging and calming in order to keep the child focussed and calm throughout the day
