Teaching Personnel are currently seeking new Behavioural Support Assistants in the West Sussex area (Worthing, Lancing, Littlehampton, Burgess Hill etc) to work in a specialist Social, Emotional and Mental Health provision catering to pupils with complex needs. The needs of attending pupils are varied, but may include:
- Anti-social and disengaged behaviour
- ADHD
- Autism
The Role:
Successful candidates will be working in a classroom environment supporting pupils on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis.
The role will operate between 8:30 - 15:30, Monday - Friday.
Full time availability is preferred but part time applicants may still apply, as job shares can be available.
The Candidate:
Ideal candidates may need to be able to drive but it isn't essential, as we will likely have a school local to you.
Ideal applicants should have previous experience working with complex behaviour or challenging needs professionally. Without professional experience any personal experience with the following could help the candidate succeed in this role:
- Psychology
- Youth/Community Work
- Care worker
- Challenging behaviour within family
- Mentoring children or adolescents
- SEN experience
- Ex-police force experience
Applicants will be working in a classroom supporting teachers and fellow support workers on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis with pupils, so should have a passion for mentoring pupils closely through their differentiated curriculum.
Teaching Personnel do offer many development courses through our CPD Academy; such as Autism Awareness, Safeguarding and Team Teach to help support any successful candidates within this environment.
