Maths Teacher – Maternity Cover

(All Girls' Secondary School, Liverpool)**
Contract: Full Time, Maternity Cover
Start Date: After the Easter Holidays
Location: Liverpool

An established all-girls secondary school in the Liverpool area is seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Maths Teacher to join their dedicated team on a maternity cover contract starting after the Easter break. The school is celebrated for its calm, inclusive environment and strong academic culture. Its Good Ofsted rating highlights pupils as happy, safe, and motivated by consistently high-quality teaching.

This role is an excellent opportunity for a motivated educator with the ability to teach Maths across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, supporting pupils to achieve and thrive.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Support students in making strong academic progress, maintaining high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and attainment.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies that reflect the school’s positive and respectful ethos.
  • Regularly assess student work and provide constructive feedback to support continuous progress.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop resources and uphold the department’s high standards.
  • Positively contribute to a school culture that prioritises wellbeing, pastoral support, and academic ambition.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching Maths at Key Stage 4.
  • Strong subject knowledge with the ability to deliver mathematical concepts clearly and confidently.
  • Effective behaviour management skills and a commitment to maintaining a positive classroom environment.
  • A passion for supporting young women to achieve success in Mathematics.

Desirable

  • Experience working within an all-girls secondary school setting.
  • Understanding of GCSE Maths specifications and assessment processes.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
