Behaviour Support Assistant – Secondary Schools | Salford Area
Full-Time | Immediate Start | Long-Term Opportunities

Are you confident, resilient, and passionate about supporting young people in education? We are currently recruiting Behaviour Support Assistants to work across a number of secondary schools in the Salford area.

This is a varied and rewarding role that involves working closely with students on a one-to-one basis and stepping in to cover lessons as a Cover Supervisor when needed. You’ll play a key role in managing behaviour, encouraging positive choices, and helping students re-engage with learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to students with behavioural, emotional or social difficulties

  • Deliver pre-set work to classes in the absence of the regular teacher

  • Promote a positive and safe learning environment in line with safeguarding policies

  • Support students in accessing their education and managing classroom routines

  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and SEN departments

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with young people (schools, youth work, coaching, mentoring etc.)

  • Strong behaviour management and interpersonal skills

  • Confidence in leading a class and supporting student engagement

  • A calm, supportive, and non-judgemental approach

  • A valid DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)

  • References covering recent experience working with young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
