Pay: £13.75 per hour
Hours: 8:15 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday
Contract: Full-time, Long-term

Are you confident in managing behaviour and passionate about making a difference in young people’s lives?

We are seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to join a supportive and dedicated team within a Secondary SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) setting in Rawtenstall. This role is ideal for someone with strong behaviour management skills and a calm, resilient approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students aged 11–16 with SEMH needs

  • Use de-escalation techniques and consistent boundaries to manage behaviour effectively

  • Build positive relationships and act as a trusted adult for pupils facing emotional and behavioural challenges

  • Support pupils both inside and outside the classroom to help them stay engaged in learning

  • Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to create a safe, structured environment

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or in alternative provision

  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills

  • Resilience, empathy, and a team-focused mindset

  • A commitment to supporting the emotional and educational development of pupils
