Trainee Teaching Assistant – Blackburn
Pay Rate: £13.75 - £14.00 per hour

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed and enthusiastic individual to join a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Blackburn as a Trainee Teaching Assistant starting in September 2025.
This is the perfect role for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in a school setting — particularly if you are interested in progressing into teaching, SEND support, pastoral care, or educational psychology.
Role Responsibilities:
As a Trainee Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support teachers in delivering high-quality lessons across a variety of subjects.
- Work with individual pupils and small groups, particularly those needing additional support.
- Assist in preparing classroom resources and displays.
- Help monitor student progress and behaviour while maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Build strong, positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Receive ongoing training, mentoring, and professional development throughout the year.
This role offers a comprehensive introduction to working in education, with access to CPD sessions and the opportunity to shadow experienced professionals.
Ideal Candidate Profile:

Desirable (but not essential):

- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
