Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant Needed in Preston!

Position: Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant
Location: Colne, Lancashire
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Start Date: October 2025

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant school community in Colne. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive environment where your efforts can make a real difference in the lives of students with behavioural needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with behavioural challenges.
  • Implement individual behaviour support plans and strategies.
  • Assist teachers in creating an inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitor and report on student progress and behaviour.
  • Work closely with parents, teachers, and external professionals to support student development.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly in a behaviour support role.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, SEN qualifications) are desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
