Level 3 Teaching Assistant
Location: Blackburn
Days: Monday to Friday
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Pay: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour (depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
[Agency Name] is currently recruiting on behalf of a Secondary Alternative Provision in Blackburn for a dedicated and resilient Level 3 Teaching Assistant to start immediately.
This is a full-time role, supporting both on a 1:1 basis and within the classroom, working with young people who present challenging behaviours and have often experienced disrupted education. The ideal candidate will be confident, calm under pressure, and committed to removing barriers to learning to help pupils achieve both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored 1:1 support to pupils with additional needs
-
Support the teacher with classroom management and lesson delivery
-
Build strong, trusting relationships with students
-
De-escalate challenging situations using positive behaviour strategies
-
Work collaboratively with SENCOs and other support staff
Requirements:
-
Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
-
Experience working in secondary or alternative provision settings
-
Confidence in managing challenging behaviour
-
A proactive and flexible approach to support
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
