Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant- Bury (BL9)

Teaching Personnel are currently working with an Ofsted graded “Good” Primary School in Bury (BL9). The role is to start after the October half-term in November, until the end of the academic year, with the school looking to employ the desired person on a permanent basis to continue working with the child. The role will be working 1:1 with a Year 2 child who shows signs of challenging behaviour and struggles to engage in lessons.

The role:

  • Support, engage and inspire learning on a 1:1 basis
  • Liaise with the SENCO and inclusion team to help support behaviour specifically with the pupil and potentially other pupils too.
  • Must have worked within primary education/have transferable skills related to supporting pupils aged 5-11
  • Be confident and able to adapt to support pupils within all subject areas
  • Be able to build positive working relationships with pupils who display challenging behaviour and help them engage within lessons.
  • Previous experience supporting pupils with special educational needs is advantageous but not essential

Community and Youth Workers along with sports coaches looking to transition into primary schools would be welcomed to apply as their transferrable skill sets have worked in school previously.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
