Behaviour Mentor Opportunity at an Ofsted Good Secondary School in Stockport

Teaching Personnel is excited to offer a rewarding opportunity for a Behaviour Mentor to join an Ofsted Good secondary school in Stockport. This pivotal role is set to begin after Easter and will run until the end of the academic year, with the potential for permanency based on performance. If you are passionate about making a difference in young people's lives and have a knack for managing and improving student behaviour, this role is for you.

Role Overview: The Behaviour Mentor will work closely with students who are facing behavioural challenges, providing support, guidance, and intervention strategies to help them overcome these obstacles and thrive in a school setting. This full-time position is an essential part of the school’s commitment to creating a positive, inclusive, and productive learning environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • One-to-One Support: Work individually with students to identify the root causes of their behavioural issues, setting goals and strategies for improvement.
  • Group Sessions: Lead small group activities focused on social skills, anger management, conflict resolution, and other relevant topics.
  • Classroom Support: Assist in classrooms to provide additional support to students, helping to manage behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Collaboration with Staff: Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and the pastoral team to develop and implement effective behaviour management strategies.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Keep detailed records of interventions and progress, reporting back to staff and parents/guardians on student achievements and areas for further development.
  • Contribute to School Policy: Actively contribute to the school's behaviour management policies and strategies, ensuring they are effective and inclusive.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Has experience in behaviour management or a related field, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with students, staff, and parents.
  • Shows resilience, patience, and a positive attitude in challenging situations.
  • Is committed to fostering a positive learning environment and can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Holds relevant qualifications or training in behaviour management, psychology, education, or related fields (desirable but not essential).

  • A competitive salary ranging from £1540 to £1900 per month, dependent on experience and qualifications.
