Are you an empathetic, resilient, and inspiring individual with a passion for helping young people thrive? a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school, is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to support students in overcoming barriers to learning and achieving their full potential.
About Us
The school caters for children and young people aged 6-17 with SEMH needs, often including additional challenges such as ADHD, autism, anxiety, trauma or behavioural difficulties. Providing a nurturing, therapeutic, and supportive environment where every student is seen, heard, and valued.
The school's mission is to create a safe, consistent and inspiring space for our learners to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
The Role
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will:

Build strong, positive relationships with students to support emotional regulation and behaviour for learning

Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams and external professionals

Use restorative and trauma-informed approaches to manage challenging behaviours
-
Deliver 1:1 or small group interventions tailored to students’ individual needs

Provide daily support in and out of the classroom to ensure a consistent and safe learning environment

Be a role model, demonstrating emotional intelligence, patience and resilience
What We’re Looking For

Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs (school, youth work, PRU, or care settings)
-
A calm, compassionate and proactive approach to behaviour management
-
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to de-escalate challenging situations
-
Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
-
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
-
Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, youth work, or behaviour support are desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
