Are you an experienced Youth Worker, Mentor or Behaviour specialist wishing to source a new challenging position for September 2018?
Do you have experience dealing with and supporting hard to reach, and vulnerable young people?
Our partner 11-16 Secondary school located in central Salford have received additional funding to facilitate the employment of a temporary Behaviour Mentor to work with their identified students from September 2018 for the full academic year.
"We wish to appoint an experienced Behaviour Mentor to work alongside a number of identified pupils across Key Stage Three and Key Stage Four with the purpose of managing and promoting positive behaviour throughout the school day. It is essential that the successful Behaviour Mentor has previously worked with vulnerable young people, and a Mentoring background is desirable for this role. Interviews are to be held throughout the Summer Holidays, so applicants are urged to submit their interest at the earliest convenience." - SEN Co-Ordinator.
- Full time Behaviour Mentor required, September 2018 start.
- Initially offered for one academic year, continuation subject to additional funding.
- Pay dependent on previous experience, up to £1400 per month.
- Large mixed comprehensive Secondary school in central Salford
- Previous experience working with hard to reach and challenging young people is essential.
- Opportunities to engage with additional CPD throughout position.
The role of Behaviour Mentor will encompass the responsibilities of managing behaviour and promoting positive behaviour management across the school. The successful Behaviour Mentor will also be assigned as 'Key Worker' for a number of identified pupils across Key Stage Three and Key Stage Four to mentor and work on a 1:1 basis for a selected period of time throughout the year. The incoming Behaviour Mentor will also be responsible for tracking progress of pupil behaviour and attainment.
Situated in the centre of Salford, our client Secondary school has recently been refurbished through the Salford Schools' Development Programme resulting in additional space for pupils to access additional support at school. There are 1,000 students on roll at the school at present, and this number is due to increase over the next academic year, meaning there will be an increase in pupils who display challenging behaviour and require additional support in school.
The school can be accessed from central Manchester via the A580 (East Lancashire Road) and for those without transportation, there are a number of public transport links from Bolton, Trafford and Bury that lead directly to the school.
To be considered for this opportunity, please submit a full CV to Nicola Pollitt - alternatively contact the Manchester West Secondary Office via the details provided below;
