If you are an outgoing and confident individual able to work with and build relationships with those disengaged with school life and able to work with students who have behavioural issues, then please see below for an ideal role as a Behaviour Mentor.

Our client secondary school located in the central Manchester area is looking to recruit a Behaviour Mentor to start with them ASAP during this next half term or following the Easter break. The successful Behaviour Mentor will be working with students who are at risk of exclusion and require support on a 1 to 1 basis. Any previous experience of working with hard-to-reach students aged 11 – 16 would be highly beneficial or a theoretical understanding from a Psychology degree for example. The school is planning to take on a Behaviour Mentor irrespective of whether schools reopen or not, given the growing number of students attending school.

The school is situated in the inner-city centre area making it very easy to access and as a result has a diverse range of students that attend the school. Students are from all backgrounds and abilities and being able to support students of any background is an ideal asset for the successful Behaviour Mentor to have. You will be working with a very small selection of students, often 1:1 building a relationship and engaging in a fun and interesting way. Any relevant experience will be highly beneficial.

Highlights of the Behaviour Mentor position:

  • Pay ranging between GBP325 - GBP425 per week depending on experience
  • Full time and possibly part time opportunities available for the successful Behaviour Mentor
  • Work and assist at a highly supportive, inclusive secondary school
  • Situated in the central Manchester area; accessible via Metrolink and regular buses
  • Short walk from Manchester Piccadilly central area
  • Work with specific student(s) in building a relationship and engaging in school life

The school is housed in a new building with fantastic facilities and has a positive family feel to it. Students in the local area are diverse coming from a range of backgrounds and cultures. The school has a comprehensive and well integrated behaviour policy which all students understand; setting a certain level of expectation. The successful Behaviour Mentor will therefore have the benefit of this policy and be supported throughout their work at this school.

If you pride yourself on being able to work with pupils aged 11 – 16 who require more support in regards their behaviour then apply now with your latest CV outlining your most relevant experience in a cover letter.
