Behaviour Mentor – SEMH / Behaviour Support – Cardiff (CF11)
Location: Cardiff, CF11
Pay: £89.38 per day
Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a specialist provision in the Cardiff CF11 area, supporting pupils aged 11–16 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, challenging behaviour, and other additional learning needs (ALN). We are recruiting a dedicated and empathetic Behaviour Mentor to provide 1:1 and small group support.
This full-time opportunity is perfect for someone with experience in youth work, education, or care who is passionate about helping young people succeed—both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide consistent 1:1 support to pupils with behavioural and emotional difficulties

Implement tailored behaviour management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques

Foster strong, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and development
-
Work alongside teaching staff to create a safe and structured learning environment

Track pupil progress and contribute to behaviour and education support plans
Who We’re Looking For:
-
Experience working with children or young people in schools, youth settings, or care environments
-
Confident managing challenging behaviour in a calm and constructive manner
-
Patient, resilient, and passionate about improving pupil outcomes
-
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
-
Qualifications such as Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning, Team Teach, or Mental Health First Aid are beneficial but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
