Teaching Personnel are looking to build up a bank of teaching assistants for two behavioural schools in Liverpool. This is as these schools require a high number of support staff on a daily basis. These schools are located in East and North Liverpool, both cater for KS3 pupils.
These schools support pupils that are of a vulnerable and have a challenging nature. You will work closely with your colleagues to create action plans for students, taking an active role in implementing a programme that positively encourages learners to overcome barriers to learning, improve their skills and ultimately gain recognised qualifications.
You will have strong interpersonal skills in order to communicate with families, carers and a multidisciplinary team of teaching staff, social workers and educational psychologists. You will be organised, patient and confident, with a sound understanding of the key issues currently affecting young people.
It is not essential to have worked in a school for this position however it is preferred to have worked with children, especially those with SEN or challenging behaviour. Candidates with youth worker backgrounds, psychology backgrounds, sports or forces are highly sort after for this role. Those with restraint training such as MAPA, Team-Teach or similar are highly desired.
