Autism Specialist TA required

Amazing opportunity.

Competitive rate of pay.

Work 1:1 alongside a child with Autism in a Primary School setting.

It is with excitement that I introduce a super opportunity for a teaching assistant to work alongside a child in a Year 3 class who is diagnosed with Autism. The child has recently moved to the local area and arrives with low social needs and academic ability. She is currently working at Year 1 age related levels and struggles with building relationships with children and adults. The Head teacher is keen to appoint a Level 3 Teaching Assistant who is capable of working with PECs, visual timetables and basic MAKATON. It is not a necessity but it would be preferred if you have the above experience and skillset.

The child is currently working in Year 3 and has recently received a full Education Health and Care Plan which offers additional funding to support the child. In brief, the Head teacher has contacted Teaching Personnel to source someone from the 23rd April to 19th Jul. 2019 with the view to carrying on through to the next academic year. The working hours will be confirmed after the interview but they are currently looking at 6 hours per day 5 days a week in line with the school working hours. The school is currently graded as good by Ofsted and a follow up inspection is due in the next two years. The school continues to be graded good and the school advisor team work in collaboration with the Head teacher to ensure there is consistent practice across the school. They are therefore looking for someone who is strong and wont crumble under any pressure.

The school is made up of children from the local community with various social backgrounds. Behaviour is good and the support you will receive from the SENCO and Head teacher will be vital in the relationships you build in school. The staffing team are very supportive as well. In the past we have had a number of teaching assistants work in school who pass on only positive feedback for the school.

The rate of pay will start at no less than £9.50 per hour. Teaching Personnel pay directly into the candidates account and no money will be lost in the process. There is no fee taken from you at the end of the week or term- so don't worry about that! The vetting process is quick and efficient; please make sure you are ready with recent reference details and a DBS on the update service.
