Pastoral Teaching Assistants – Dorchester
Location: Dorchester, Dorset
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Ongoing Supply
Pay: Supply rate, paid weekly
Teaching Personnel is currently working with schools across Dorchester who are looking to recruit Pastoral Teaching Assistants to join their pastoral support teams on an ongoing basis.
These roles are ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting children’s wellbeing and behaviour and are looking for flexible but consistent work within education.
The Role
- Working as part of the school’s pastoral team
- Taking pupils out of lessons to provide 1:1 support
- Sitting with students to talk through behaviour, emotions and choices
- Supporting pupils to re-engage positively with learning
- Helping to promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- A mix of short- and longer-term placements available
Who We’re Looking For
- Experience working with children or young people (education, youth work, care or similar)
- Calm, patient and approachable manner
- Confident supporting behaviour and emotional needs
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- DBS on the Update Service preferred, or willing to apply through Teaching Personnel
