Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a welcoming secondary school in Newcastle to recruit a proactive and organised Attendance Officer to join their team before October half term.

This is a key role within the school, focused on improving pupil attendance and punctuality, working closely with staff, pupils, and families to support student engagement and achievement.

The Role:

• Monitoring daily student attendance and punctuality.
• Maintaining accurate records and producing reports for senior staff.
• Liaising with parents/carers to follow up on absences.
• Working with pastoral teams and external agencies to address attendance concerns.
• Supporting the school’s safeguarding procedures and promoting a culture of high expectations.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working in a school office or administrative role (attendance experience desirable).
• Strong IT skills, with the ability to use school MIS systems effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families, and staff.
• A proactive, organised, and solution-focused approach.
