Maths Teacher – Secondary Supply
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Start Date: January 2026
Contract Type: Full-Time Supply (with long-term and permanent opportunities)
Salary: Paid to Scale (MPS/UPS, dependent on experience)
About the Role
Are you a passionate Maths Teacher, ECT or specialist looking for a fresh opportunity in January 2026?
We are seeking a confident and enthusiastic Secondary Maths Teacher to join our supply teaching team, working full-time across a range of welcoming and supportive secondary schools in the Newcastle area. You’ll be teaching KS3 and KS4, with KS5 opportunities available for those who wish to specialise further.
This role is ideal for teachers who enjoy variety, flexibility, and the chance to make a real impact - without sacrificing stability or progression.
Your Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 optional)
- Inspire students to build confidence and achieve their potential in mathematics
- Manage classrooms effectively and maintain a positive learning environment
- Adapt quickly to new schools and work collaboratively with staff
- Track progress and support student attainment where required
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching Maths at secondary level
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- A positive, adaptable, and professional approach
- Passion for teaching and motivating young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
