Job Advert – Full-Time Attendance Officer
Location: Amble, Northumberland
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-Time, Ongoing
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a welcoming secondary school in Amble to recruit a proactive and organised Attendance Officer to join their team before October half term.
This is a key role within the school, focused on improving pupil attendance and punctuality, working closely with staff, pupils, and families to support student engagement and achievement.
The Role:
- Monitoring daily student attendance and punctuality.
- Maintaining accurate records and producing reports for senior staff.
- Liaising with parents/carers to follow up on absences.
- Working with pastoral teams and external agencies to address attendance concerns.
- Supporting the school’s safeguarding procedures and promoting a culture of high expectations.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working in a school office or administrative role (attendance experience desirable).
- Strong IT skills, with the ability to use school MIS systems effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families, and staff.
- A proactive, organised, and solution-focused approach.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
