Teaching Personnel we are looking for a candidate that wants to work with pupils with ASD, the School have a year 8 pupil who is needing 1:1 support on a full time basis starting in September. We are seeking a Teaching Assistant who is experienced in working with pupils with additional needs, in particular Autism. There pupil is high functioning but really needs that 1:1 support with his work as he is working at a much lower academic ability.
Can you be the candidate who makes a positive impact?
The ideal candidate will have prior experience of working in a classroom and have the ability to support children and young people with SEN; in particular those with Autism, the candidate will need to have a calm and adaptable approach to ensure the relationship can develop quickly.
The School are wanting a candidate with relevant experience with autism, either in a School setting or another education/care based setting where you can fit straight into the position. Coming from a relevant background is really useful and will be required if you don’t have ASD experience in a School based setting.
If you are looking to increase your experience before applying for a PGCE, this will be a perfect opportunity to understand pupils’ behaviours in the classroom. Also, understand the way pupils with SEN can work to the best of their ability.
