1:1 Autism Teaching Assistant

Your new school

The school are located in Coventry. This Ofsted rated ‘Good’ primary school based in Coventry are recruiting for a primary teaching assistant to support pupils across KS1. Primarily the role will require you to support a child with Autism. In addition this dynamic primary school in Coventry is looking for a primary teaching assistant to assist KS1 pupils by providing phonics and reading interventions to ensure each child’s learning is progressing and developing.

Your new role

As a primary teaching assistant supporting pupils in KS1, you will support pupils to improve their literacy skills, focusing on their phonics and reading abilities. For this teaching assistant job in Coventry, you will also work alongside the teacher in delivering activities that are age appropriate and engaging. In this primary teaching assistant role in Coventry you will maintain a safe and secure environment for the children to learn in.

What you'll need to succeed

For this Coventry primary teaching assistant job supporting pupils in KS1, you should hold an NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification or equivalent as well as recent, previous experience in a classroom environment as a primary teaching assistant. Experience and/or knowledge of phonics is essential, as delivering intervention sessions to develop pupils phonics abilities is a large part of your role. As a primary teaching assistant for KS1, you should also be able to plan and deliver age appropriate programmes of work.
