Experienced Teaching Assistant - SEN & Alternative Provision

We’re recruiting skilled and resilient Teaching Assistants to work across SEN schools and Alternative Provision settings, supporting pupils with complex needs, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and challenging behaviour.
This role is ideal for TAs who are confident, proactive, and experienced in managing behaviour while building positive, consistent relationships with students.
The Role
As an experienced Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils with additional needs on a 1:1 or small-group basis
- Implement behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques
- Provide structure, routine, and emotional support
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
- Help create a calm, safe, and supportive learning environment
You’ll be working in settings where consistency, boundaries, and relationships are key.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant (SEN and/or Alternative Provision preferred)
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, or complex needs
- Confidence, resilience, and emotional intelligence
- A calm, firm, and compassionate approach
This is not a general classroom role — we’re looking for TAs who can confidently handle challenging behaviour and thrive in specialist settings.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
