Teaching Assistant
Job description
We are seeking a committed and resilient individual to join our specialist education setting in New Milton, supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs.
This role is ideal for someone with strong behaviour management skills who is confident, calm, and consistent in their approach. You will play a vital role in creating a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where pupils can thrive both academically and emotionally.
About the Role
- Supporting pupils who may display challenging behaviour
- Implementing positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques
- Building trusting relationships based on consistency, respect, and clear boundaries
- Working closely with a skilled multidisciplinary team to support individual behaviour plans
- Helping pupils develop emotional regulation, independence, and social skills

- Proven experience or strong understanding of behaviour management
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and respond positively to challenging situations
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
- Confidence in setting clear expectations and maintaining routines
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
