Teaching Assistant

We are looking for resilient, patient, and passionate Teaching Assistants to support young people within a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU). This is an incredibly rewarding opportunity to help students who may have faced challenges in mainstream education rediscover confidence, engagement, and success.
The provision supports young people who may present with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, behavioural challenges, trauma-related needs, anxiety, or additional learning difficulties. Every day is different, and every small achievement can make a significant impact.
What you'll be doing:

Supporting students both in and out of the classroom

Building positive and consistent relationships with young people
-
Encouraging engagement with learning and personal development
-
Managing and de-escalating challenging situations in a calm and professional manner

Promoting emotional regulation, confidence, and independence
-
Working closely with teachers and pastoral teams to provide tailored support
We're looking for individuals who:

Have a genuine passion for supporting young people
-
Can remain calm, patient, and positive in challenging situations
-
Are confident building strong relationships and setting clear boundaries
-
Have experience working with children or young people
-
Come from backgrounds such as education, youth work, support work, coaching, care, mentoring, or the armed forces
-
Are committed to helping students achieve positive outcomes

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
