The school are seeking to appoint an Apprentice Teaching Assistant, anticipated to start in September for the expected duration of 24 months. As an Apprentice Teaching Assistant, you will work with the Educational Needs Team supporting the learning and/or emotional needs of students on the Individual Needs Register. The role requires someone who has a genuine passion to develop the whole child, both emotionally and academically and demonstrate they have stamina required to cope with the demands of the post.
As an apprentice Teaching Assistant, you will develop a range of strategies to support a vareity of barriers some young people face that impact on thier learning. You will develop and implement skills to promote good learning outcomes, confidence and independance. You will be resposible for liasing with teaching staff, supporting students in class and in 1:1 intervention sessions which will require you to monitor progress, write reports and attend support stategy meetings as required. This may also include communicating with external agencies, parents, carers and colleages to ensure the best decisions and outcomes are achieved for every child you work with.
The sucsessful applicant will demonstrate some existing leadership and management skills, present themselves to have strong interpersonal skills, and give examples of effectivness and efficency in previous roles or expeirences working with children. It is also crucial that any applicants are personable and able to respond to a diverse range of people, fostering postive and professional relationships.
As an apprentice Teaching Assistant, you will be required to work 30 hours per week 8.30-15.00. The school hosts a range of extra curricular activities which you are welcome to support on a voluntary basis to further enhance your development your own learning experience. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
