Job Title: Admin Assistant / Health & Safety Officer
Location: Barnstaple
Salary: £25,410 - £26,975 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.45am to 4.45pm
Our Client:
Our client is an independent special school based in Barnstaple and Bideford, opened in 2015. Rated Good by Ofsted in October 2022, the school caters for up to 60 pupils aged 7-19. It offers small group and individualised learning with a strong focus on social and emotional development, providing full-time education for pupils on roll as well as outreach and intervention services.
The Role:
Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and organised individual to join their team as an Admin Assistant / Health & Safety Officer. In this role, you will:
- Perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks to support the smooth running of the school.
- Take on the responsibilities of Health and Safety Officer, ensuring the safety of both staff and students at all times.
The Person:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in an administrative role.
- A good understanding of Health and Safety requirements.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- IT proficiency.
- The ability to remain professional and composed in the face of challenging behaviour.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
