ADHD/ADD Teaching Assistant

Job description

ADHD Support Assistant Required- Year 5 Mainstream School-Burnley

  • Behaviour Support Experience
  • Year 5 child with ADHD and Associated Behavioural Difficulties
  • Level 2 or above qualified

Do you have the relevant skills to support a young child with a Health and Care Plan targeting his Behaviour? Then this may be the role for you.

A school on the outskirts of Burnley have informed Teaching Personnel to say they would like us to supply a temporary behaviour support assistant to start after the May holidays and continue for the foreseeable future in school, providing the child stays in a mainstream setting.

The Head teacher and SENCO are keen to secure a positive role model and someone who can build a strong working relationship with the child in question. The Head teacher has commented that she would like a strong character who understands the boundaries between being a friend and being a person of authority, whilst working with the child.

The child in question has ADHD and as a result of this can quickly escalate and disrupt other children in the class. It is essential that the applying candidates have a good knowledge of children with ADHD and can use a variety of strategies to manage the behaviour of the child. It is preferable that you have TEAM TEACH but is not essential.

If you are interested in this role then please do not hesitate to contact me ASAP. My email is howard.taylor@teachingpersonnel.com
