A South Preston Primary require a P/T EYFS Teacher

Qualified Teacher Status is a requirement

Experience working in an EYFS setting is a necessity

Flexible working hours are on offer and will be discussed at the interview process.

A medium sized school on the outskirts of Preston have approached Teaching Personnel this week; the specification we have received is as follows;

EYFS experienced Teacher who can work on a part time basis in a class of 27 children. There is 2 support assistants, one is a Level 3 and can take the class in the teacher's absence and the other works on a 1:1 basis alongside a child with special educational needs. The role will start from the 25th February 2019 and run for the continuation of the academic year. There is also the possibility that you will continue in your role into the new academic year. Currently the part time role is 0.6 of the working week. If you apply for this role, you MUST be committed to the position and continue until at least the end of the Summer term. The school is graded as GOOD by Ofsted and the level of teaching and learning is also GOOD. The Head teacher has been in post for almost three years and is by all accounts 'very supportive' as are her Senior Leadership Team. The school is situated in an affluent part of South Preston, however there will be some challenges with low level disruption and some behaviour management techniques would need to be implemented. The current class teacher is set to take up her maternity in February half term so there will also be opportunities for the successful teacher to undertake a number of transition days. As the class teacher is also the Deputy Head, you will be expected to co-plan with the other EYFS teacher who covers 0.4 of the working week. It is therefore important that you are able to split your time with the class teacher to plan a fun and engaging week which is well differentiated and individualised for the 27 children in class.

If you are a Newly Qualified Teacher then I would recommend applying for this role, the Head teacher has said she is not ruling anyone out, as long as they posses the qualities needed to be successful in this role. She also mentioned that they do have the capacity in school to support junior teachers who show promise but do not have as much experience.

The school has a good reputation in the local area and usually has a full intake in the Reception class. The level of quality teaching and learning across the school is the main reason why local families will send their children to this school. The Head teacher is also inspirational and another reason why children enjoy coming to school…as well as the staff. If you are interested then I would recommend contacting the office as soon as possible. This is a unique role, and one which will be very popular with the teachers of Lancashire.
