Are you a qualified teacher wanting to stay in education but require a change from classroom teaching? Is your subject specialism English, Maths, Science or Humanities? Are you seeking full or part time work to begin September 2018? If so Teaching Personnel have the ideal role for you!

Teaching Personnel are in partnership with an alternative provision that provides education for those excluded from mainstream education. With many pupils receiving off site tuition, we are in high demand for teachers with flexible working timetables. You would be responsible for planning and delivering core subject lessons on a 1:1 basis for those with moderate learning difficulties and some students with behavioural difficulties. Additional in-house training will be provided if required.

As a tutor, you would be required to work on a 1:1 basis and you should have experience of teaching KS3 - KS4. With the majority of students under achieving, you should be capable of supporting the young person with their literacy, including writing skills and communication skills. You may be required to use different methods to engage the young person. Patients and resilience are key characteristics for the role, being able to differentiate work for differing abilities such as SEN, Behavioural Difficulties, looked after children and mental health issues.

The successful candidate must have:

  • QTS or overseas equivalent
  • Subject specialism (Maths, English, Science, Humanities)
  • A track record of improving attainment levels as GCSE
  • At least 12 months experience in an education based position
  • An outgoing and charismatic personality with the ability to engage students
  • A Valid Enhanced Child Only DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one

It is desired the candidate has:

  • Full UK Driving licence and access to your own vehicle

Pay: £100 - £145 per day

Location: Scarborough
