1:1 Behaviour Support Assistant Needed to work alongside a child in a Y3 class

L8 School close to the city centre

Are you an experienced SEN support assistant who is keen to move into a forward thinking school where you can progress and make a difference to the children you are supporting?

It is not essential that you hold a specialist teaching assistant qualification but it would be preferable if you held a L2 or above Teaching and Learning qualification.

The Role

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for a dynamic Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child who is transitioning from KS1 to Y3. This is a behaviour support role, the child has Special Educational Needs additional to this as well, so it is important that you will have worked alongside children previously who have a variety of needs. Experience working alongside children with challenging behaviour is also essential for this role and the Head teacher has expressed the ideal candidate must be 'firm but fair' to ensure the child is progressing and on track to hit individual learning goals. This is a full time role Monday - Friday working from 9:00 - 15:15 (5.25 hours per day). There will be plenty of interest in this role as there will be an opportunity for it to continue onto a temporary contract.

Your School

This particular school is a larger than average Primary School who have been working with Teaching Personnel for a number of years. We hold a long-standing relationship with SLT and understand the school ethos. The school do not use a lot of supply however the staff we have had working in the school have thoroughly enjoyed their time there and have expressed the school is made up of a welcoming and supportive team. There is not a high demand for additional support staff as most children do not hold an EHCP in school, however this child is desperately needing the support and so the school are keen to appoint on a temporary basis for February 2019, although the role could last till the pupil moves on to secondary school or to an alternative provision! Trials will be held as early as next week

Essential:

Level 2 qualification or above is a necessity.

Experience working alongside children with special educational needs and behaviour.

You must have worked within a Primary School within the last 12 months and be able to provide references.

Confident working alongside children with challenging behaviour and a proven track record of raising attainment within the classroom, particularly working on a 1:1 basis.

Teaching Personnel:

Teaching Personnel pay our staff weekly and directly into your bank account - no need for umbrella companies! Do not wait to see whether your current role gets extended. Do not put all of your eggs in one basket. Do not delay in getting in contact. Please call Helen on 0151 244 5430 to discuss the Teaching Personnel registration process and to arrange a suitable meeting time. Alternatively please send a copy of your most up to date CV
