Job description

Some young people need more than education—they need someone who believes in them.

We are recruiting Teaching Assistants to work within specialist schools supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Many of the students have faced significant challenges and require patient, understanding adults who can provide consistency, encouragement and support.

The Role Includes:

  • Providing classroom and pastoral support
  • Supporting students with emotional regulation
  • Building positive relationships and trust
  • Encouraging independence and resilience
  • Working closely with teachers and support staff

You'll Need:

  • Resilience and a calm approach
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people
  • The ability to build positive relationships
  • A willingness to learn and develop professionally

It is essential you have experience supporting children in youth work, education or care settings.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
