English Tutor – Northumberland (NE40)

Location: Northumberland (NE40)
Hours: Part-time, weekdays during school hours
Pay: Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience)

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic English Tutor to provide high-quality 1:1 tuition for a student in the Northumberland (NE40) area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced tutor, teacher, or education professional who is passionate about helping students develop their English skills, build confidence, and achieve their academic goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and personalised 1:1 English tuition.

  • Plan lessons tailored to the student's individual learning needs and ability.

  • Support the development of reading, writing, spelling, grammar, and comprehension skills.

  • Prepare students for assessments or examinations where appropriate.

  • Monitor progress and provide regular feedback.

  • Create a positive, supportive, and motivating learning environment.

Requirements

  • Experience teaching or tutoring English.

  • Experience supporting children or young people on a 1:1 basis is desirable.

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is desirable but not essential for candidates with relevant tutoring experience.

  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

  • Right to work in the UK.

  • Ability to provide professional references.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
