English & Maths Tutor - NE40 Northumberland

Location: NE40, Northumberland
Hours: Part-Time, School Hours (Weekdays)
Pay: Competitive hourly rate, dependent on experience and qualifications

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate English & Maths Tutor to provide tailored educational support to learners in the NE40 area of Northumberland. This rewarding role involves delivering personalised tuition during weekday school hours, helping students improve their English and Maths skills, build confidence, and achieve their academic goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging 1:1 English and Maths tuition sessions tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Support students in developing literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Plan and adapt lessons to suit different abilities and learning styles.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records.
  • Build positive and supportive relationships with students, families, and relevant professionals.
  • Encourage student engagement, confidence, and independence.

Requirements

  • Experience teaching or tutoring English and Maths.
  • Strong understanding of the UK curriculum.
  • Ability to deliver personalised and differentiated learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.

Desirable

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or relevant teaching/tutoring qualification.
  • Experience supporting students with SEND, SEMH, or those out of mainstream education.
  • Previous experience delivering 1:1 tuition.
  • Knowledge of intervention strategies to support academic progress.
