Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a school looking for Teaching Assistants to work full time from after Easter and from May half term.
The school caters for 62 pupils' primary and secondary age with Autism (verbal and non-verbal) and associated learning disabilities including emotional/mental health needs and communication difficulties.
Pupils will use a variation of PEC's and Makaton signing to communicate. Each pupil receives an individualistic intervention programme based on learning through rewards. Most pupils will work 1:1 with a key Teaching Assistant who will observe, track progress and record the data on charts.
Successful candidates:
- Experience personal or professional experience with Autism
- Special Needs Experience in a mainstream and/or SEN setting
- Resilient and comfortable managing behaviour
- Able to follow instructions
- Quick at learning and adapting to change
- Passion to work with children
All staff are expected to work Monday-Thursday (8.30am- 4.30pm) and Friday (8.30am - 3.30pm). Although all pupils leave at 3.30pm staffs stay on for training and personal development.
