Science Teacher – Full Time (Long‑Term)

Location: Bury
Start Date: Easter 2026
Contract Type: Long‑term, full‑time until Easter 2027
Pay: Paid to scale (MPS/UPS)

A well‑established secondary school in Bury is seeking a dedicated Science Teacher to join the department on a long‑term, full‑time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated educator who can deliver high‑quality teaching across KS3 and KS4, contribute to a supportive department, and help maintain strong pupil progress throughout the academic year.

The Role

  • Full‑time teaching timetable with responsibility for planning, delivering and assessing Science lessons.
  • Teaching across KS3 and KS4, with the ability to specialise in Biology, Chemistry or Physics.
  • Supporting the department in raising attainment and engaging learners of all abilities.
  • Participating in staff meetings, intervention sessions and wider school activities.

Requirements

  • Must hold UK QTS specialising in Science.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a track record of delivering effective lessons.
  • Confident in behaviour management and able to build positive relationships with students.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a well‑resourced Science department.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
