Youth Worker

Date posted : 21/03/19
£54 - £60 per day

Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

In the SEN branch, we work with a number of education provisions which provide an alternate education to the standard mainstream curriculum.

In a pupil referral unit, the students are often placed there due to experiencing social, emotional and mental health needs which unfortunately mean that mainstream school is not the most beneficial environment for them the be in.

In the PRU, they study key skills such as English and Maths and also do many vocational classes and enjoy a lot of sport and activity. Often students can be disengaged and show challenging behaviour due to their emotional state, and need a supportive figure to act as a mentor and role model during their time within class.

Candidates with a background in Youth work or similar are ideal, or experience in working in a similar environment. It is essential to be prepared to handle a range of situations, and have a resilient personality, whilst also being approachable and able to build positive relationships with the students.

If you think you have the right skills for this role, please apply with your CV and a cover letter detailing your experience.
