Youth Work teaching assistant Oldham

Required at our North Manchester secondary school, qualified Youth Work teaching assistant to support students in the schools inclusion unit. The students will have identified needs such as SEMH, MLD and ADHD, so previous experience in these areas will be highly advantageous.

- Full time position for duration of this academic year

- Immediate start date for most suitable Youth Work teaching assistant

- Provide additional support to students who display signs of challenging behaviour

- Earn up to £75 per day working as a Youth Work teaching assistant

- Providing SEMH support across ages 11-16 in non-mainstream setting

Our client school is a newly built, modern secondary which borders Oldham and Manchester, and a short drive from the M60 motorway. The school has seen recent rises in attainment and progress, and those students deemed ‘high risk of exclusion’ are still able to achieve well with additional support. The school was newly built 5 years ago and has outstanding provisions for learning, including the newly built inclusion unit.

As a Youth Work Teaching Assistant at our client school, you will mainly work in the inclusion unit, supporting the Inclusion coordinator in delivering intervention plans to targeted individuals across the core subjects, so previous experience in these areas will be beneficial. A number of students may struggle with integrating into a class setting, so there will be elements of independent learning to be supervised.
