The School does fall under the Salford Diocese and so there will be an element of upholding the Christian faith in school. You do not have to be a practising Catholic in order to be successful in this role. However, you must be able to work with the Curriculum to enhance the development and understanding of the Catholic faith.

There will be a number of children in that class who have English as an additional language and also special educational needs. You will be employed to work as a general teaching assistant but the class teacher will expect you to be actively involved in managing behaviour for individual children across the class. The member of staff who worked in this role previously relocated away from Blackburn and so the school have been keen to appoint a new member of staff who can support the children in their academic and social development.

This role will be advertised in the Summer as a Level 2 position. Therefore the school currently have funding for 6 hours per day at Level 2. The Head teacher has mentioned that they will be happy to receive applications from candidates who have level 2 or equivalent qualifications. Therefore, if you hold a degree in Education Studies or hold HLTA status then you will be considered for the role.
