A school we work closely with at Teaching Personnel are looking for a fully qualified teacher for a Year 5/6 class to start as soon as possible to fill a long-term absence position which may lead to a permanent contract. As this Primary School are part of an Academy trust this position may involve working with a number of different schools within the Leeds area schools, therefore candidates need to be flexible with availability and have access to a vehicle.

This school, rated as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, lies within the heart of LS11. This particular school are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated teacher who can help raise pupil attainment in all core subjects across the KS2 curriculum in a year 5/6 class. The school are looking for a new teacher who has over recent experience in KS2 SATs and who is interested in running new initiatives to help pupils progress to their maximum potential. This may involve delivering Interventions such as; SATs Boosters, Literacy, Numeracy and Behaviour.

Teaching Personnel works closely with Leeds Trinity University which provides our candidates with the knowledge and skills they need to develop both personally and professionally as a teacher. Opportunities and key skills courses run all year round for candidates to name a few; Literacy and Mathematical Development across the Curriculum, Planning and questioning for progression, Early Reading and Phonics and Effective Behaviour management!

  • Candidates must be available school  hours and flexible with day to day and long-term work
  • Candidates must have a positive attitude and have experience working with young people in a primary education environment
  • Candidates must be enthusiastic and confident when working with primary school aged children of all levels and abilities
  • Candidates need to be open to trial days and providing interventions for the school to improve and increase their pupil attainment and engagement levels
  • Candidates need to show responsibility for their own learning  as well as personal and professional development through experience, qualifications and trainings
  • Candidates must be able to work as a team and individually
  • Candidates must have an up-to-date CV and a 6 year career history
