About the Role

As the Year 5 Class Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in preparing pupils for the transition into their final year of primary school. You will deliver engaging lessons that challenge and inspire learners while creating a classroom environment where every child feels supported, valued, and motivated to achieve their best.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and differentiated lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum
  • Monitor, assess, and track pupil progress to ensure excellent outcomes
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
  • Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development
  • Establish strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and fellow staff members to enhance learning experiences
  • Prepare pupils for end-of-year assessments and the transition into Year 6
  • Contribute positively to the wider school community and school improvement initiatives

✅ The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

✔ Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

✔ Have experience teaching within Key Stage 2, with Year 5 experience being advantageous

✔ Demonstrate excellent classroom and behaviour management skills

✔ Have a strong understanding of the National Curriculum and effective assessment practices

✔ Be able to differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners

✔ Possess excellent communication and organisational skills

✔ Be passionate about helping children achieve their full potential

✔ Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
