The Role

As the Year 5 Class Teacher, you will play an important role in preparing pupils for the challenges of Upper Key Stage 2 and their transition into Year 6.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, creative, and differentiated lessons in line with the National Curriculum
  • Creating a positive and stimulating classroom environment that promotes learning and achievement
  • Assessing, monitoring, and tracking pupil progress to ensure strong educational outcomes
  • Adapting teaching approaches to support pupils of all abilities, including those with SEND and additional learning needs
  • Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, effort, and attainment
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
  • Working collaboratively with year group teams and support staff to maximise pupil achievement

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have experience teaching within Key Stage 2, with Year 5 experience desirable

  • Have a secure understanding of the Primary National Curriculum
  • Be confident differentiating learning to meet the needs of all pupils
  • Be committed to raising standards and helping children achieve their full potential
