Year 4 Teacher

£130 - 150 per day

Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

A school in North Leeds are looking for a teacher with experience in KS2 to take their Year 4 class until Christmas 2020. If you have KS2 experience and are looking for a full-time role from September onwards then see the details of the role below.

What is the role?

The school need a teacher to take the class from September until the Christmas holidays as their full-time class teacher is off on long-term sickness and will not be returning until then at the earliest. The role is full-time with relevant PPA time allocated as per any class teacher role. The school would prefer an experienced candidate as opposed to an NQT, as this would mean greater stability for the class as they have already had two teachers in this role in the last year.

What is the class like?

The behaviour at the school is on the whole good, and the children are polite and conscientious. In this particular Year 4 class there are some children who at times exhibit challenging behaviour which can disrupt and interrupt the learning of the rest of the class. The school would like someone who can be firm but fair with these children, as this is the most effective means of keeping them on task, so the school needs someone who is confident in their behaviour management. There is a dedicated class TA to assist in this regard, so there is plenty of support. There is one child with autism in the class although the school are encouraging of the child to join in as much full class activity as possible, so experience engaging with and planning in line with EHCPs to ensure this, as well as with the SENCO, would be well thought of by school.

What is the school like?

The school is a 1-form entry primary school in North Leeds that was last rated by Ofsted as GOOD. The school has consistently achieved at this level over many years and behaviour at the school has always been pleasant and under control. The Head has been at the school for the last 4 years, so knows the school well and has established a good and enthusiastic staff team. The school is very easily accessible by car or bus, and there are plenty of parking spaces available.

To apply…

Submit an up-to-date CV detailing the previous roles that you’ve held, detailing the responsibilities that came along with them. We will send these CVs through to the school and liaise with them to organise interviews and trials. School would then arrange handover sessions with the current class teacher for the selected candidate before the end of the year.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
