Learning Support Assistant (SEN / SEMH) – Specialist Schools
Location: New Forest Area (Totton and Dibden)
Pay Rate: £13.75 per hour
Contract: Term Time Only
Hours: Full-time and Part-time roles available
Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs? Teaching Personnel is working closely with a range of specialist SEN and SEMH schools across the New Forest area and is seeking dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join supportive, inclusive school environments.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to pupils who require tailored emotional, behavioural, and educational support.
The Role:

Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN and SEMH needs

Support learners with needs including Autism (ASC), SEMH, SLD, PMLD, and associated behaviours
-
Assist with communication strategies, sensory regulation, and emotional support
-
Work closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral teams to support Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
-
Help create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment

Support adapted learning activities and, where required, personal care or physical support (training provided)
The Ideal Candidate:

Experience supporting children or young people with SEN and/or SEMH (school, care, youth work, or similar settings)

A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach
-
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

Willingness to engage in training for behaviour support, safeguarding, and physical intervention
-
A genuine passion for helping pupils reach their full potential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
