Teaching Personnel work closely alongside a Welsh Medium Secondary school that require a Teaching Assistant who specialises in supporting Autism & additional learning needs. Ideally you'll have experience supporting individuals with ASD in any setting and be comfortable working with pupils aged between 11-16.
The students that you will be supporting have Autism and many have co-existing conditions including ADHD, sensory processing disorder, learning disabilities, disruptive behaviour disorders, mood disorders, anxiety, tics and Tourettes syndrome, epilepsy and learning disabilities. You must be confident and capable of supporting pupils who have problems with communication or have sensory difficulties. You must be resilient and have the ability to work proactively with challenging behaviour.
The role is within the mainstream schools, but the class sizes are smaller so you'll really have a great opportunity to make an impact on the children. You must have experience in supporting children / adults with Autism or have a close personal connection to Autism. Candidates with Team Teach or experience in PECS and / or Makaton are highly sought after.

- Pay from GBP57 per day
