Unqualified Teacher/Cover Supervisor
Job description
*Unqualified teachers needed for a secondary school in Bury*
Teaching Personnel are working alongside a secondary school in Bury who are currently looking for an unqualified teacher/cover supervisor. Due to an increase in staff absence and course cover requirements leading up to the Christmas period, our client secondary school are hoping to recruit an unqualified teacher to cover pre-planned lessons.
Due to all work being pre-planned and already set, many schools are happy to have unqualified teachers to cover teacher absences within the classroom.
You do not need a teaching qualification to work as a cover supervisor therefore; this is a great way to gain valuable experience within a classroom before applying to a PGCE/teacher training programme.
- Flexible roles available including full-time and part-time roles.
- Flexible working hours to fit around your schedule.
- Cover a variety of subjects including English, Maths and Science and gain experience covering different aspects of teaching.
- Covering a teacher’s absence and delivering pre-set work.
- Supporting pupils ranging in age (11-16) and learning ability.
- Manage behaviour in line with school behaviour policy.
- Assess and evaluate pupils’ progress in the absence of the teacher and report this back efficiently for their return.
Application requirements
- Any previous experience working within education is desirable.
- You must have some form of experience with young people or skills that can be transferred to work within the education sector.
- Any experience of learning or behavioural difficulties is also desirable.
Our partner school is located in Bury and is easily accessible from surrounding areas of Bury including Bolton, Prestwich and Whitefield. Our client school is also accessible via public transport links from the surrounding areas of Greater Manchester.
For immediate consideration, please submit an updated CV (highlighting your experience and education) to Megan Knight using the link provided below. For further information, please contact the Manchester West Secondary Office on 0161 242 1799.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
