Job description

1:1 Tutor (In-Home / School Setting) – Dudley Area

Location: Dudley and surrounding areas
Hours: School hours (flexible within 8:30am–3:30pm)
Type: Part-time / Contract
Pay: Competitive (dependent on experience and qualifications)


About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Tutor to support pupils in the Dudley area, working either in their home or within a school setting during school hours.

This is a rewarding opportunity to provide personalised support to pupils who may need additional help to re-engage with learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver tailored 1:1 tutoring sessions based on individual learning needs
  • Support core subjects such as English, Maths, and other curriculum areas as required
  • Create a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet a range of needs, including SEN where appropriate
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback after each session
  • Work collaboratively with parents, schools, and other professionals

Requirements

  • Teaching qualification (QTS) or a minimum of 2 years’ teaching experience delivering the UK curriculum
  • Experience working with children or young people (teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or support roles)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible, patient, and reliable approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

Desirable

  • Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Background in education, youth work, or pastoral support

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
