Trainee Welsh Medium Teaching Assistant

Start date May 2024 (with options to start in September also)

Full time (Monday to Friday)

8:30AM-3:30PM

£12.90 per hour

Teaching Personnel are currently working alongside our partnership schools in the CF14 and CF24 areas, who are currently looking ahead of the summer term and into September for individuals who are looking into education as a long-term career or are looking to enrol onto a PGCE or Primary Education course in September 2025. The schools are looking to employ an individual for a full academic year placement and are happy to give as much training and support as possible to ensure you gain the relevant experience and skills to work with children effectively.

Daily responsibilities in the role include:

-          Ensuring child safety at all times, in the classroom and outdoors

-          Supporting the class teacher with setting up for activities throughout the day

-          Managing good classroom behaviour

-          Ensuring classroom is tidy throughout the day

-          Conducting reading sessions with small groups of children

-          Working 1:1 with children who need additional support with academic work

What are the vetting requirements to work in schools?

-          A child only DBS on the update service (it is essential that the DBS is on the update service)

-          Registration with the Education Workforce Council

-          2x professional references that cover the last 2 years minimum

-          You need to be able to speak fluent Welsh for this role

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
